Activities
MVO Nederland assists entrepreneurs in bringing CSR into practice by giving information on the website, giving workshops and lectures, by organising events and design specific CSR tools. MVO Nederland also collaborates with trade organisations. This allows CSR to be tailored to specific business situations of entrepreneurs in the construction industry, retail sector, business service companies and other sectors.
External projects
In addition to the general promotion of CSR to the business community, MVO Nederland carries out a number of large CSR projects. These projects support the general mission and vision of MVO Nederland and produce practical information for entrepreneurs. Many projects have an international character. For example, MVO Nederland facilitates companies with CSR knowledge for importing, exporting and investing abroad. The funding of these projects comes predominantly from ministries.
A few examples:
- The Communication OECD guidelines project (see www.oesorichtlijnen.nl) provides internationally operating companies with information on the OECD guidelines.
- The project Developing Countries raises the awareness with the Dutch business community about CSR market opportunities in developing countries.
- The project Emerging Markets stimulates CSR and supply chain responsibility in five sectors which have substantial supply chains with emerging markets such as Russia, China and India.
MVO Nederland is also working on a CSR project in Agribusiness to support the parties in this sector in their CSR activities.
Another important project is a project to stimulate good corporate citizenship: ‘Nationaal Stimuleringsprogramma Maatschappelijk Betrokken Ondernemen (MBO)’. This program encourages entrepreneurs to dedicate themselves voluntarily to society through, amongst other things, employee voluntary work.
